RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency enjoyed an excellent year in 2007. The highlight was the privilege of being entrusted with a portion of the dispersal of the Estate of the Late Robert Sangster's Swettenham Stud. The star of the show was Group 1 winner Playful Act, who became the subject of an intense bidding war between the teams of Darley and Coolmore. Darley eventually came away with her with a world-record $10.5 million bid. Other standouts in the dispersal were Grade 1 winner Sand Springs ($2.3 million) and an $850,000 Kingmambo weanling filly.
In addition to the Sangster dispersal, we sold the highest-priced weanling at public auction in 2007, a Pulpit - Madcap Escapade filly for $1.7-million. Overall at Keeneland November, Hill 'n' Dale was the #2 consignor with 154 head sold for $36,756,800.
Across town at the Fasig-Tipton November sale we also offered a strong consignment of young broodmare prospects. Included in the group were multiple Grade 1 winner Dream Rush ($3.3 million), multiple Grade 1 winer Pussycat Doll ($2.3 million), Grade 1 winner Appealing Zophie ($1.1 million) and Grade 1 winner Irish Smoke ($750,000).
We were also the #3 consignor at the 2007 Keeneland January Mixed Sale, where we consigned the sales topper for the 3rd time in 4 years.
In 2006, Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency was the #4 consignor at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale and the #3 consignor at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
At the 2006 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Hill 'n' Dale sold the two highest priced yearlings by Vindication; a colt out of Silvery Swan for $4.6 million, and a colt out of Serena's Tune for $2.8 million.
