THE VERDICT IS IN...
CLOSING ARGUMENT, the runner-up in the 2005 Kentucky Derby [G1] is moving to Hill 'n' Dale for the 2008 breeding season. Hill 'n' Dale has already been successful bringing horses to Kentucky from Florida with the likes of the sensational Stormy Atlantic.
CLOSING ARGUMENT'S first foals have drawn rave reviews from the experts, with one individual bringing $185,000 to top the OBS Fall Select Mixed Sale, an extraordinary achievement for a first crop sire.
"Closing Argument was not only a gifted racehorse, he is a physical standout. I have seen all of the Closing Argument foals of Bill & Corrine Heiligbrodt and love their quality. They have great depth, balance, and athleticism. He looks like the next leading freshman sire to me. I will be surprised if he does not sire fast and talented racehorses."
- leading trainer Steve Asmussen
d from the Wood, just as his sire and great-great-great grandsire did before him, as the most promising, raw-talented three year old in the country and the horse to beat in the Derby.
